Sindel

Sindel is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series. She made her debut in Mortal Kombat 3.

Sindel returned in Mortal Kombat 11 as a DLC character, being the fourth character available in the Kombat Pack.

Sindel returns as a playable character in Mortal Kombat 1 while also serving as a supporting ally in the game’s story mode.

Despite her menacing appearance, in the original timeline Sindel is kind and benevolent in nature. She rules the Realm of Edenia alongside her daughter, Princess Kitana. Sindel's power appears to be of an inner, ethereal nature in more than one way. She is a distinctly older and more mature character, with flowing grey hair and a regal attitude befitting of her role as Queen of Edenia. She has a natural affinity with aerial magic, as evidenced by her ability to levitate and manipulate sonic waves.

In Mortal Kombat: Deception, creator Ed Boon describes Sindel as a challenging character in more ways than one. Although Sindel is not one of the main characters in the series, she was involved in a big part of the game. This had to do with the fact that her rule over Edenia made her a target for many other rulers like Shao Kahn, Shinnok, and Onaga. Sindel was one of the few villainous characters to become heroic in the series.

Sindel's backstory is retconned in Mortal Kombat 11, revealing that she had been evil all along, with her supposed unwillingness to marry Shao Kahn being a lie that she told to keep the Edenians (and especially Kitana) loyal to her. She resented Jerrod for trading away their powers and believing themselves to be no better than commoners, while falling in love with Shao Kahn's willingness to assert his own dominance and take what was his.

In the new timeline, Sindel is once again shown on the side of good and now serve as an Empress of Outworld. She also has two daughters with Mileena as the oldest daughter.

In the Legacy of Chris Thorndyke, she is one of them that would be like that basically that Kitana saw some good in her and did fight her and even would kill her and ultimately redeems her, but it was at a strong cost and after Sindel's death, Kitana was not feeling alright that she had to kill her own mother in the second saga and even doubted that she could be a good Kahn of Outworld, so Kotal became the Kahn of Outworld, along with Jade as an advisor, since it was a wise move and the story of Jerrod's death is like a story being told in different styles and ways, some may say that Jerrod was killed by Shao, D'Vorah did it or Sindel did it, but after her death, she is reunited with Jerrod, and being part of Ermca, much like in Mortal Kombat 1, so Sindel would get a happy ending, in a way.

And she is reprised by Kelly Hu in the English dub and her Japanese voice is unknown.
