Master Tien Khuan was the leader of the Council of the Gods and the king of the Spirit World that he resided in the Golden Temple as its ruler of the Spirit World, but in the series finale, he was murdered by Twin Masters, because Twin Masters was after the Sacred Orbs, due to his rage for power, but he told him that the rest of the orbs are gone, and he who lives without honor will end without honor, and Twin Masters, full of rage and impatience that he stabbed him in the chest and back, as inside and out. And as he left, he gave the last Sacred Orb that represents the Golden Temple itself as the coronation of a new ruler, but his spirit lives while his real body dies.
In the Legacy of Chris Thorndyke, though that his real body has been violently slaughtered by Twin Masters, but his spirit lives on, and he is also a member of the Council of Light that he has mentored two heroes, Lin Chung, which that was his adopted son and Jon Peterson, the new Hero: 108 that has ultimately defeated Twin Masters to save his new home, and he is also a good friend with Iroh, since that they drink tea, and even got mentioned by his student that he was like a grandfather to him.
