Blaze The Cat  is a fictional character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. She is an anthropomorphic cat and a princess hailing from an alternate dimension, where she is both the regent of her world and the appointed guardian of the Sol Emeralds, a role similar to that of Sonic and Knuckles combined.  As her name suggests, she is gifted with the power of pyrokinesis, which lets her create and manipulate fire in any way she pleases.

Blaze is normally calm and elegant, but tends to conceal her true feelings. Devoted to her position, she sometimes gets herself bogged down by her own strict discipline, which made her anti-social, shy, and unfamiliar to the concept of having friends. After spending time with Sonic and Cream, however, Blaze has discovered the true meaning of friendship, allowing her to accomplish tasks for the good of her people and the innocent which she could never do alone. Despite the initial boundaries separating them, Blaze now travels freely between her dimension and Sonic's to visit her friends.

Blaze was born into the royal family of the Sol Empire in her home dimension who have protected the Jeweled Scepter for generations. From birth, Blaze possessed the inherent power to control flames with her body, an ability she possessed for her future duty as the guardian of the Sol Emeralds. However, because of her initial inability to control her powers, other children teased her about it when she was younger. As such, she would wear a cape to disguise her abilities which she would only discard when needed. In the end, Blaze's powers made her spend most of her life alone.

As Blaze rose to princesshood, she became guardian of the Sol Emeralds. Because of her rough past though, Blaze saw her abilities as a "curse" that forced her into a life of seclusion for her duty. As such, she shut herself off from other people to bear her responsibilities alone, making her shy, withdrawn, and self-reliant. Over the course of her duty, Blaze lived an isolated life without any real friends which meant she never learned how to use the Sol Emeralds. During her reign, Blaze met the villainous Dr. Eggman Nega who would become her nemesis.

In Sonic Rush, Blaze's dimension and Sonic the Hedgehog's are in flux with one another, allowing the characters to travel from one to the other through a tear in the space-time continuum. Blaze is the only playable character in Sonic Rush aside from Sonic himself.

When Dr. Eggman came to her world and stole the Sol Emeralds, the Sol Emeralds summoned her through the space-time tear that lead to Sonic's world, where she set about recovering the Emeralds from him. Early on this mission she encountered Cream the Rabbit, who immediately took on the role of Blaze's guide and close friend, despite Blaze's misgivings. Blaze was surprised at the openness and naivety of the young rabbit, especially when she was invited into Cream's house almost immediately after meeting her for the first time. Cream set about teaching Blaze the meaning of friendship. They encountered several of Cream's friends who all suggested that Blaze ask Sonic for help. However, she was so convinced that she needed no help that when she and Sonic did actually cross paths, she attacked him. After a brief battle, she admitted her mistake.

After the battle she gained the last of the Sol Emeralds. However, just as she had recovered from her victory, Eggman appeared and demanded that he meet with Blaze alone and that he kidnapped Cream. Angered, Blaze pursued Eggman to Unknown and defeated his giant robot. After searching frantically through the robot's ruins, she found Cream and the two left, presuming Eggman was defeated.

Having collected all the Sol Emeralds, Blaze was surprised that their power did not return her to her world. As she was contemplating this, Eggman and Eggman Nega appeared in a giant mech. Blaze fought them, but they easily defeated her and drained the power of the Sol Emeralds. Hopeless about her plight, Blaze was surprised when Sonic showed up. He told her that the true power of the Chaos Emeralds and Sol Emeralds came from people's friendship and encouraged her to open up to other people and recognize the friends she made on her journey. Finally appreciating the value of friendship, and the need to accept help from others from time to time, Blaze began to realize the true power of the Sol Emeralds, recharging them and for the first time used their power to transform into Burning Blaze. As Burning Blaze, she and Super Sonic successfully stopped Eggman and Eggman Nega from taking over the universe and at the same time repairing the tear in the space-time continuum and once again separating their worlds. Afterward, she and Sonic promise to see each other again and say their goodbyes as they shake hands, being torn apart by their respective dimensions having been returned to normal.

On the path back to her dimension, she remembers Sonic's word of advice on friendship and trust and that she now had that power. Reassured, she said to her imagination of Sonic that they would definitely meet again, and headed back to her world.

In Sonic Rush Adventure, Blaze once again found herself up against a threat to her world, this time being Captain Whisker, a robotic pirate, along with his crew, who planned to steal the mystical Jeweled Scepter, which was acclaimed to have the power to control Blaze's world's geological activities. While trying to protect the scepter, Blaze came across Sonic, Tails, and Marine the Raccoon, who Sonic and Tails initially met up with after the Tornado sent them to Blaze's world. With her allies help, Blaze once again collected the lost Sol Emeralds and defeated Captain Whisker and his lieutenant Johnny.

After getting back the Jeweled Scepter, it was once again stolen, but this time by Dr. Eggman and Eggman Nega, who were working together to unleash the Power of the Stars with the Jeweled Scepter. Sonic and Blaze used the Chaos Emeralds and Sol Emeralds respectively to once again transform into Super Sonic and Burning Blaze and defeat Eggman and Eggman Nega. Afterwards, Tails made a vessel to bring Sonic and Tails home. Before Sonic's departure, he and Blaze shake hands once again, signifying growing respect and friendship and the promise to meet again one day.

In Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), Blaze ended up in Silver's future under unknown circumstances. There, she met Silver the Hedgehog, whom she would fight alongside against the forces of Iblis. At the start of Silver's story, she notified Silver of Iblis' location in Crisis City. Even after they beat Iblis though, the monster would reconstitute itself later as always, prompting Blaze to calm a frustrated Silver down. When they were transported back in time by Mephiles to eliminate Sonic and prevent Iblis from appearing, Blaze ended up in Wave Ocean and left to find Silver, so to keep him out of trouble. After finding Silver, Blaze encouraged him to continue their mission. Hoping that they could find something about Sonic at Eggman's headquarter, they infiltrated his base. There, Silver found a Chaos Emerald, which Blaze told Silver to keep as a "lucky charm".

Arriving in New City, Blaze and Silver found Mephiles, who guided them to Sonic. After Silver learned the truth behind the Solaris Project and how Iblis was created, Silver told Blaze that Sonic was not the one that would release Iblis. As such, they went to help Sonic and Princess Elise, the living container for Iblis. After losing the princess when the Egg Carrier crashed, Blaze mourned with her allies until Silver and Sonic used Chaos Control to send Sonic back in time to rescue Elise, while Blaze and Silver went back to the future where they tracked Iblis down, having figured out an alternative to stopping Iblis for good.

Upon defeating Iblis, Silver tried to seal it inside himself. However, when Silver was rejected as a vessel, Blaze took his place as her soul was alit with flames and would thus be accepted. Blaze promptly sealed Iblis inside her and begged Silver to use Chaos Control to seal her in another dimension, but Silver refused to sacrifice her. Nevertheless, Blaze did the deed herself, replying that despite Silver's naivety, she always liked that about him before fading into another dimension. When Solaris, and thereby Iblis, was erased from the timeline, Blaze's adventures in Silver's time were erased as well and she was returned to her proper place, though it also meant Blaze never met Silver.

In the Nintendo DS version of Sonic Colors, while Blaze tended to a Sol Emerald, it suddenly started to glow and transported her to Sweet Mountain in Dr. Eggman's Incredible Interstellar Amusement Park where she ran into Sonic and Tails. After giving them her story, Blaze noticing what seemed to be Eggman's robots, and she wondered if something was going on and that she looked forward to seeing whether Sonic had what it took to resolve matters. After Sonic destroyed twenty of the robots, Blaze praised him and claimed that he needed little of her help after all.

The group spilt up after that, but soon after, Blaze met Silver the Hedgehog. As they came close to a ride at the park though, Orbot and Cubot appeared. After being challenged by Eggman's two lackeys, Blaze and Silver easily scared them off. They then ran into Sonic and Tails once more, where Blaze wondered if the ride the robots kept them from warranted a look, and Sonic investigated, but returned with nothing.

In the console/PC version of Sonic Generations, Blaze attended and helped prepare Sonic's surprise birthday party. As the party began, however, the Time Eater suddenly appeared and Blaze was sucked into one of the Time Eater's Time Holes and ended up in White Space, where she was turned into a statue due to the Time Eater's effects.

Eventually, Blaze was returned to normal by Sonic and Classic Sonic. When the Sonics confronted the Time Eater, which was revealed to be controlled by Eggman and Classic Eggman, Blaze arrived at the battle with the others and cheered on both Sonics, allowing them both to transform into Super Sonics. When the Sonics defeated the Time Eater, Blaze and the others were sent back to the present. Continuing with the celebration, Blaze later waved goodbye to Classic Sonic and Classic Tails as they returned to their own world.

In Sonic Jump (2012), Blaze and co. discovered that Eggman had begun kidnapping Animals again and taking them high into the sky, prompting the heroes to set out to stop Dr. Eggman's operations. Whenever they managed to corner Eggman in a Zone and defeat him however, the doctor would retreat to another Zone, although not before capturing more Animals. After Eggman's defeat in Mechanical Zone however, the doctor would crash down to Earth, ending his plans, thus allowing Blaze to reunite with all the Animals.

In Team Sonic Racing, Blaze received a vague invitation to a Grand Prix in Sonic's dimension. Her curiosity piqued, Blaze decided to answer the invitation's call. After arriving on Sonic's world, Blaze met Silver, who had received the same invitation as her, and Vector, who had come to the Grand Prix as per the request of his "sources". Soon after, they trio met the person behind the invitations: a Tanuki called Dodon Pa. Upon seeing her host, Blaze refused to be part of a game a Tanuki had arranged. When Dodon Pa tried to persuade Blaze to participate with the Grand Prix's cash prize, Vector was convinced to participate. Knowing Vector would get into trouble, Blaze and Silver agreed to join Vector's team in order to bail him out when trouble arrived.

For the races, Blaze received the Royal Chariot to race in. After a couple of races with Team Sonic and Team Rose, Blaze met Amy and confirmed to her that she had received an invitation to the Grand Prix. Realizing that Doddo Pa held enough power to send objects across dimensions, Amy advised Blaze to be careful. Blaze, however, was certain that she could handle an old Tanuki. Not long after that, Blaze and her team were joined in the competition by Team Dark and Team Eggman.

While waiting for the next race, Blaze and her team were radioed by Tails, who instructed them to join Team Sonic and Team Dark on the racetrack in order to help them take down Dr. Eggman, who had intruded on the two teams' race in order to compete against them on his own as a "special guest" (which Dodon Pa permitted despite knowing it was a lie). Complying to Tails' request, Blaze admitted that the prize money which Eggman stood to win held no meaning to her and that she just wanted to "mete out justice". With the aid of her teammates and the Skim Boost technique, Blaze was able to get into position. She then joined forces with the rest of Team Vector, Knuckles, Tails, Rouge, Omega and Team Rose. Together, they surrounded Eggman on the racetrack before delivering a massive beatdown on the doctor with their combined Wisp power-ups. However, Dodon Pa was too busy watching Eggman's beating to see who crossed the finish line first.

As the races progressed, Dodon Pa became very impressed by Blaze and the other teams' performances. Making a stand as a princess, Blaze refused to be Dodon Pa's performance monkey. However, Dodon Pa told her that her status meant nothing to her, before having Blaze compete in another race. Later, Blaze noticed that Silver was being absentminded. Urging Silver to tell her what was bothering him, Silver admitted that he had a hunch that something bad was about to happened. In response, Blaze told Silver that she trusted his hunch and that they would be ready when the time came. Later, after another race, Blaze sensed that Vector had other reasons for joining Dodon Pa's Grand Prix besides the cash prize. Telling Vector to come clean, Vector admitted that he was here on behalf of Tails to get the dirt on Dodon Pa, but that he had not gotten very far. When Blaze later asked for updates on his investigation, Vector revealed that Espio and Charmy would have a report ready soon. Eventually, it was revealed to Blaze and everyone else that Dodon Pa was a good guy and that he was using the Grand Prix to gather information for his corporation's Ultimate Energy Engine, which Dodon Pa wanted to use for philanthropic purposes.

Soon after, the heroes learned from Big that Eggman had kidnapped Dodon Pa and brought him to the Final Fortress. Wanting to rescue Dodon Pa, Blaze and co. went to the Final Fortress. There, Eggman had them compete in a number of races with Team Eggman and his army of Eggpawns in exchange for Dodon Pa, not knowing Eggman was using them to gather the Ultimate Team Energy needed to finish the Ultimate Energy Engine. Once the engine was complete, Eggman stole it from Dodon Pa and incorporated it into his Death Egg. Blaze and her crew subsequently faced the Death Egg, and beat it in a race. However, the Death Egg soon after went crazy and drove into the Final Fortress's core. As the Final Fortress crashed, Blaze and her companions were forced to abandon their cars and evacuate the airship while Team Sonic saved Dodon Pa. Down on the ground, Blaze was reunited with Team Sonic when they arrived with Dodon Pa. Just as the Grand Prix seemed over since the cars had been destroyed when the Final Fortress crashed, Dodon Pa decided to give everyone new cars, thus allowing Blaze and her friends to race once more.

In The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, Blaze is one of the several of Amy's friends to get invited to her special birthday party aboard the Mirage Express. She also participated in the murder mystery event, where she would encounter Barry the Quokkaevery now and then.

In Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, Blaze would be invited by Dodon Pa to compete in the CrossWorld Grand Prix which she was already in Sonic's world still on her vacation, she would also return with an upgraded version of the Royal Chariot machine which can transform to function on land, sea, and air.

In the game's story mode, Blaze helped Amy, Peach, and three Toads prepare invitations for the athletes who were to take part in the Olympics. When Amy noticed Sonic's invitation however, she started asking Blaze for permission to bring Sonic's invitation to him in person. Despite making it clear that doing that would take time they did not have as they had other invitations to hand out, Blaze agreed to it on the condition that Amy could beat her in some events. While Amy managed to win, Blaze got so carried away in her attempt to win that she accidentally knocked all the invitations off the table. After the majority of the invitations were recollected, Blaze apologized for what she did. Soon after, Amy agreed with Blaze that she should stay and help the others with the invitations and let Sonic get his like everybody else.

As everything got back at schedule, Daisy dropped by and suggested that they went shopping. While Blaze and Peach insisted that she stayed and helped them distribute the invitations, Amy wanted to go with Daisy. To settle this, Daisy and Peach made a deal: if Daisy beat Peach in a series of events, Amy could go with Daisy, but if Peach won, Daisy had to stay and help with the invitations. For these challenges, Blaze sided with Peach while Amy sided with Daisy. After Blaze's duo won, Peach agreed to let them all take a break in Hyde Park first. When they returned however, the invitations had been blown away by the wind. The group tried to regather the invitations, but discovered that Eggman and Bowser's invitations had been ruined after falling into the nearby lake. Amy and Peach thus decided to rewrite their invitations. Later on, after mailing the invitations, Blaze and Daisy arrived in Hyde Park, where they saw Eggman and Bowser walk away with letters. The duo soon after met Amy, Peach, and some Toads, who had been trying to deliver Eggman and Bowser's invitations to the two villains, only for the Toads to have lost the invitations. Blaze then based on her observations that Eggman and Bowser had already found the lost invitations and left with them. With everything appearing to be in order, Blaze decided to head back to the hotel, but was convinced to go shopping with Amy, Peach, and Daisy instead.

One morning later on, Blaze and Peach were protecting three Toads from Fog Imposters of themselves amidst a thick fog that covered London. After defeating their imposters however, they dissolved into the fog. Blaze and Peach also found Amy and Daisy, both of them having collapsed in the park. After waking the pair, Blaze had to calm them down when they suspected her and Peach of being Fog Imposters, whom Amy and Daisy had to deal with as well. Blaze and the girls then followed a Toad, who had seen a suspicious bat lurking around. Upon finding the bat, who turned out to be Rouge, she threatened to imprison the girls in the fog and have the Fog Imposters take their place. After Rouge was defeated by Peach in an event though, the former admitted that she had no recollection of what she had been doing. Rouge then led everyone to a Fog Machine which Blaze destroyed. As the fog cleared, Blaze and her friends found out that Eggman had been using the fog to control Rouge's mind. Later, Mario, Luigi, and Toad arrived and found out from Rouge that Eggman had brainwashed her at the British Museum. As the heroes went to the museum, Blaze and her friends stayed with Rouge in Hyde Park. When a denser version of the fog later covered Hyde Park, Blaze cleared the park of it with the aid of Amy, Peach, Daisy, the Toads and Rouge, which they reported back to Sonic and Mario about in an effort to support them as they faced the masterminds behind the fog: Eggman and Bowser. After everything had been resolved, Blaze would appear at the opening ceremony for the Olympic Games.

There, Blaze teamed up with Sonic and new ally Tangle the Lemur to fight off the robots. After they were defeated, Blaze explained her reasoning for coming to Sonic's world. As Sonic believed Blaze was referring to Eggman's recent takeover, he told her that she was "seven months late" from what already took place. However, Tangle noted the Badniks participating in more organized attacks might be the beginning of something worse on the way. Blaze relayed the fact that the Sol Emeralds would not have guided her to Sonic's world for no reason and decided to stay until her purpose became clear, to which Sonic agreed with. She subsequently aided Tangle with clearing out the fires in Spiral Hill Village while Sonic investigated the matter.

Eventually, Blaze was called to Resistance HQ. There, she and the Resistance's other allies were informed that the Resistance needed their help to liberate Angel Island, which had been conquered by Neo Metal Sonic and turned into a flying fortress. To make matters worse, Neo had also secured the Master Emerald for himself on the island. While Amy presented the group with her battle plan, Blaze offered a more direct approach: let her become Burning Blaze with the Sol Emeralds and allow her to confront Neo. However, Tails convinced Blaze that it was not wise, given that Neo could potentially copy Blaze's powers and become too powerful. Instead, Blaze was tasked with helping one faction of the group break the Egg Fleet's control over the island while Sonic and Knuckles confronted Neo.

On their way to Angel Island, Blaze had a talk with Amy. When Blaze wondered if their lonesome ally Whisper could be trusted, Amy reminded her that she used to be a lone wolf herself. Reflecting on how far she had come, Blaze agreed with Amy that they would win the day after assuring her that she would be careful. When the Egg Fleet then began bombarding their ship, Blaze had to abandon the ship and begin her attack. Using the Sol Emeralds, she became Burning Blaze and started attacking the Egg Fleet's vessels while thinking about how far she would go to protect her friends. She was soon after contacted by Amy and told her that she would be with the others soon. As her battle against the Egg Fleet continued however, Blaze noticed that her transformation was beginning to run out. Seeking to finish her part of the plan now, Blaze channeled the last of her strength into a massive attack that blew the Egg Fleet's left-wing unit on Angel Island off the island. Her powers drained, Blaze de-transformed and landed on Angel Island.

As Angel Island began to fall, Blaze took flight, wondering if she caused this. She soon after met up with the rest of her team onboard an Egg Fleet battleship that Tails had secured, during which Amy informed her that the island's descent was due to the absence of the Master Emerald. Knuckles later contacted them to request Burning Blaze's help, but Blaze revealed that she could not transform again due to the Sol Emeralds being low on power. When Master Overlord (a transformation Neo Metal Sonic had achieved with the Master Emerald) then attacked the battleship, Blaze joined her allies in a midair assault on Master Overlord, whom they forced closer to Angel Island while Knuckles focused on removing the Master Emerald from Master Overlord's body. During the battle, Blaze got shaken off Master Overlord, but was rescued by Silver with his psychokinesis. Knuckles subsequently got the Master Emerald away from Master Overlord and brought it back to Angel Island, returning the island to the sky while Master Overlord powered down to normal. With the battle over, Blaze was brought down on Angel Island where she thanked Whisper for her aid.

As everyone got ready to leave Angel Island onboard a repaired Egg Fleet battleship, Blaze and Silver would chat with each other. When Sonic then came to check up on them and hear their next move, Blaze told Sonic that her work here was done and that she would return to her own world with the Sol Emeralds, although not before seeing everyone else home first. She also heard that Silver, who had a nagging feeling that his time was not saved from desolation just yet, planned on staying in Sonic's time for now. Blaze and Silver were then left to themselves while Sonic checked on the others.

Following Amy's directions, Blaze came to Emeraldville Ruins in order to find Silver. Upon finding Silver, Blaze learned that he was trying to grow vegetables in his own garden, but the plants did not want to grow. After taking a look at the plants that did grow, Blaze burned the earth and told Silver to use the ashes to fertilize the soil. She explained to him that the land on which he wanted to grow plants was acidified and heavy as a result of the bombs that had been dropped there. Silver proceeded to execute Blaze's orders, and thanks to her help, he managed to create a functioning vegetable garden.

Some time later back in her world, Blaze looked out from a balcony at the Imperial Palace. Gardoncame by to give the evening security report, only to reveal that there was nothing to report, and all was peaceful. Blaze was pleased with this news, saying that it may be his report for many nights to come. Just then, a crash was heard outside of the palace. When Blaze ran to investigate it, Gardon followed and warned her of the potential danger. Blaze replied saying that if it was something that threatened her in her own home, she would show it who was "dangerous." At the small crater of the crash site, Blaze and Gardon found none other than a passed out Sonic. It was revealed that Sonic had lost his memory and could not remember what had occurred before he arrived in Blaze's world; he could not even recall his own identity but accepted being called "Mr. Needlemouse" by a young girl he met there. Sonic did mention that there was nothing concrete and his memories seemed warped; he dreamt of sea and sky, of golden fire and a sense of falling, and nothing more. Blaze continued to ponder who did this to Sonic and asked herself what was happening on his world at that moment. Later, Blaze greeted Sonic after he returned from a run around the island, while she had Gardon bring her the Sol Emeralds. Believing, as their guardian, that the Sol Emeralds could help restore Sonic's memory, Blaze used their power to transform into Burning Blaze and showed Sonic his memories in her flames. Fortunately, Blaze's plan worked, and Sonic was restored to normal. Blaze then heard that Sonic had just saved his world with the help of Silver, though she repress discontent with how it led to him crashing in her garden with amnesia. Sonic, however, noted that it was in his nature to make spectacular entrances and apologized for all the confusion. Blaze then agreed to send Sonic back to his world, although not before asking him to give Amy and Cream her regards. She also promised Sonic to visit his world someday soon.

On the seas of Blaze's world, Blaze was fighting Robot Pirates on an enemy vessel. She held up one of them with just its head remaining, demanding to know where the leader of the crew is hiding. The robot denies there being a leader and claims that it and its crewmates were the only ones left until Blaze finished them off. Blaze warns the robot not to lie to her, but the robot reaffirms its answer, stating that Captain Whisker, Johnnyand Min & Mum are gone along with their fleet, and that Blaze has won. Marine then approaches with the Ocean Tornado, asking if Blaze needs help and if she won. Later, as they sail back to land, Marine wonders what Blaze is upset about since they are finally done hunting pirates, but Blaze states that they must remain vigilant. Marine tells her that she has earned some time off now that they have won, but Blaze explains that due to her status as princess of an empire and guardian of the Sol Emeralds, she carries tremendous responsibilities for each duty. Marine, believing Blaze should still be able to relax, wonders who can convince her if she cannot.

Later on, by using the Sol Emeralds, Blaze travels to Earth and goes to Lava Reef on Angel Island, where she meets Knuckles. She explains that while they are not well acquainted and that she does not like to share her burdens with others, she learned from Sonic that it is okay to trust and seek help from others and hopes to get Knuckles' opinion since he is also a guardian. As they walk through the area, Blaze asks Knuckles if it is ever OK to step away from one's duties instead of honoring them at all times. Knuckles asks her in response if she has royal duties due to being a princess, which she confirms, stating that her ministers do most of the work and she reviews it. During her extra time, she hunted down the Robot Pirates, but they were now defeated. Knuckles asks about the Sol Emeralds, to which she responds that they are kept in a secure case under constant watch when they are not on her person. He also asks if they can be hidden someplace more secure, which Blaze confirms, and says she can increase it guards. Knuckles realizes that even with all of these precautions, she still does not want to leave her duties because she would not be there to solve anything that goes wrong.

Knuckles tells Blaze to take a vacation, which she is initially unsure of. Knuckles explains that he cannot hide the Master Emerald anywhere and that due to this, he is always taking a gamble whenever he leaves Angel Island for the greater good. He tells Blaze that her situation is a gift and that she should not waste it. Blaze fondly recalls the time she was able to spend around the others, and thanks Knuckles for his insight. She offers to repay him by monitoring his island and allowing him some time off, but he declines, stating she should not do a working vacation. Blaze concedes and uses her powers to return home to make preparations. Later at the Shrine of the Jeweled Scepter on Coral Cave Island, Gardon reports that patrol ships will surround the island at all times and that the guard has been tripled, with only Blaze and Marine being allowed access to the chamber. Marine begins to tear up and tells Blaze that while she is glad to see her treating herself right, she will also miss her when she leaves, and embraces her. Blaze, sharing the sentiment, tells Marine she can still come with her, but the raccoon declines the offer, stating that she will be needed to watch over the kingdom while Blaze is away, and that she will use the Jeweled Scepter to call Blaze home if trouble arises. She gives Blaze another hug before the two bid farewell to each other.

Blaze once again travels to Sonic's world, this time arriving in Floral Forest Village. She finds Amy, Sonic, Cream, and Cheese sitting at a table and greets them. Cream happily embraces her, asking what the occasion is, to which Blaze answers that she is just taking a vacation. Sonic states that are a good enough reason to celebrate and invites her to sit and relax.

Blaze, Silver, Amy and Tails arrived in the out-of-control Eggperial City to help Sonic fight Badniks, having been called by Jewel to backup Sonic. Once Sonic explained the situation to them, Tails suggested traveling through time or dimensions to save the Diamond Cutters. Silver and Blaze shot down that idea, with Blaze saying the Sol Emeralds can only transport her from her world to Sonic's. The group worked together to clear a way for Tails to hack into the city via one of the crystals. Blaze was the level-headed one in the group when they started forming a plan to destroy the city. Before they could go to the central tower, however, they were interrupted by explosions caused by Team Dark nearby. Blaze reassured Sonic Team Dark's efforts to destroy the city would help them despite their refusal to work with them. Blaze and the others were then outnumbered by Shadow Androids, with Blaze shocked her fire was ineffective against them. Silver made a ramp, and she launched off it with Sonic and the others. She then fought with the other and Team Dark. When Shadow overloaded on Chaos energy from the giant Fake Chaos Emeralds, Silver took Blaze away to safety and they regrouped with the others to plan their next move.

When discussing their plan, Blaze told Silver it would be naïve to assume victory before they started their plan. When Tangle appeared, she commented that her power to phase through objects was strange. Metal Sonic then attacked the group and Blaze used her powers to burn a Spatial-Displacement Trap. Once Metal was taken care of, she went with Silver and Rouge to find Shadow and Omega. They found Omega, but they fell into the Memorial Garage, where Shadow was trapped by Fake Emeralds. She fought off some Shadow Androids and attempted to get close, but the energy of the Fake Emeralds was too much for her and Rouge. Silver started to remove the Fake Emeralds but began to doubt himself. Blaze reassured Silver he could do it. Once Silver freed him, Shadow then brought the group to the surface by making a tower of Fake Emeralds. Omega then caught sight of Metal Sonic and Sonic fighting above them and Blaze and Omega opened fire on Metal. With Sonic free, Blaze and the others worked together to propel Sonic up so he could destroy the central tower. With the tower gone, Silver took Blaze and the group off the ground as Shadow used Chaos Control to teleport the Fake Emeralds in the sky, where they exploded safely. Later, Blaze attended a picnic with the group and the Restoration.

Sonic and Blaze rushed through the sewers of Spagonia, with Blaze not having expected this area to be the "scenic route" Sonic had mentioned. Believing that she would have wanted to see more interesting locales after all of the peaceful ones they had been to, which Blaze agrees despite having heard of Spagonia's beauty as a city. They reach the sewer exit and jump outside, leaping and running across the rooftops. He asks Blaze if she is willing to scale the town's clock tower, promising a good view, and she agrees despite her acrophobia. While standing on the clock's arms, Blaze admires the surrounding architecture, being reminded of her world by it. Sonic offers to get them some food, only to notice her distracted by something, she explains that all the sights that Sonic has shown her have given her a love for his world matching that for her own world, and as such, she feels the need to show it an equal amount of dedication by striving to protect it. However, Sonic reminds her that her world has already been saved and she is here on a vacation, one that does not involve working. His words remind her of what Knuckles told her, causing Sonic to jokingly remark that if the concept was obvious to Knuckles, it should be easy to understand. She tells him that she is envious of his ability to balance recreation with duty and wishes to learn how to do this during their travels. After being briefly interrupted by the clock hands moving, Sonic tells Blaze that he does not want to be in charge of how she spends her time, instead only wanting her to enjoy herself. Sonic asks if she wants to get their food on the go as he was already intending to bring his friends some lunch. Blaze accepts, once again questioning Sonic's definition of a scenic route when he brings it up, and the two descend the tower.

On their way back from Spagonia, Blaze and Sonic come across a disheartened Silver in Victory Garden. Blaze stops to comfort him for his recent mistakes at Restoration HQ, and reminds him of the steady work that resulted in the garden. Sonic celebrates how well Blaze and Silver complement one another's personalities before departing to meet up with Tails and Amy. Now alone, Blaze and Silver share desserts while voicing their admiration of Sonic and of each other. When Silver wishes for more direction in life, Blaze offers to bring him on her trip around the world. He eagerly accepts, and the two set off to visit Soleanna together.

In the Restoration depot, Blaze and Silver arrive in midst of their world tour, where they had returned to the Restoration HQ after discovering Mazuri had been suffering from a poor harvest season and were back at the depot to pick up an aid container they had arranged with Jewel. Blaze soon becomes curious over the appearance of Surgeand asks about the Tenrec. When Sonic explains Surge is yet another former-enemy-turn-friend, Blaze becomes disgruntled over just how many friends Sonic makes in this fashion. When Surge is interested in what she means, Blaze begins to recall of her colder, snappy nature when first meeting Sonic, reminiscing over her fight with Sonic at Dead Line. When Surge asks Blaze and Silver if, because she's fought Sonic before, she's a member of the Restoration, Blaze politely denies her affiliation to the the organization. As Amy, Sonic, Surge, and Kit and Sonic prepare to move on, Blaze waves and watches Silver and Sonic play fight with a dry smile.

Blaze was with Cream at a colorful canyon sightseeing. She received a call from Tails about Sonic's mission to get rid of the Warp Topaz. Sonic soon arrived and Blaze was willing to help, and after a speech by Cream, she joined the others to save the world. Sonic tossed the Topaz to Blaze, who caught it and it teleported them to Tropical Jungle. They made some progress before it teleported them again to Water Palace. Blaze is then teleported to Monopole and works to get back to Sonic and Cream, who are being tossed through different portals. She then warped to Red Mountain, where she noted the topaz had more power than she realized. Blaze concluded the more she chased after them, the more portals appeared. She decided to go put the topaz back on her on for their safety, but she then heard Cream, who was holding Sonic over a lava pool. Blazed jumped to them and a portal appeared, with them falling out of the sky. Sonic held the Topaz with Blaze and explained with focus they can guide where the portal will appear. They focused on the gorge from earlier and a portal to it appeared. Cream tried to get them there, and with a boost from Blaze, they got through the portal. They arrive back in the desert and Blaze thanked Cream, but Cream said Blaze is the one who saved them. Sonic thanked them for the help, but Blaze said they didn't make any progress. Sonic pointed out they are in the lower part of the gorge now and left. They waved goodbye and Blaze noted how Sonic can find the positive in any situation.

Many days after the destruction of Restoration HQ, Silver and Blaze return from their world tour to Emeraldville Ruins to find all the flowers and vegetables in the Victory Garden destroyed. Although Silver is upset, claiming how it seems like his efforts to stop the peril in the past always lead to another disaster to clean up, he decides to make a new garden. Blaze compliments on how Silver's first thoughts in the face of adversity is on how to resume and make things better, which she finds commendable. Silver, flattered, responds things are only over when they give up. He then decides to turn the Victory Garden into an orchard with many apple tress, which Blaze approves. Tailsand Amy arrive and welcome the duo back, with Blaze relieved their friends are okay. Amy laments to Silver for his garden, but he shares with her his plans for an apple tress orchard, which she excitedly approves. Silver comments on how he and Blaze have enjoyed their world tour; having meet wonderful people, viewing amazing sights and trying on delicious foods. Blaze adds they also had numerous distractions; She feels bad that their friends were in peril while the two were across the globe. Tails tries to comfort her saying she was on vacation, but she claims that a princess must protect her people. When Tails objects that they are not from her world, she responds she considers her friends her people as well and claims she will do everything she can to protect them and their homes. Amy warmly hugs Blaze for hew sweetness, but lets her go embarrassed, remembering the former is not a hugger. Blaze volunteers to help rebuild and asks what their next steps are. Tails responds they were going to head to other regional offices for rebuilding efforts, as Restoration HQ was originally the center of it. Viewing the destroyed shuttle on top of the destroyed HQ, Amy, a little depressed, claims they need to check if everyone is okay and if the entire network has collapsed. Tails also hopes that, during their travel, they can discover what happened to the yellow Chaos Emerald he was holding on. Amy invites Silver to join them on their travel, but he kindly declines it, because he just realized the Diamond Cutters might also be going through a hard time. Even though how he was kicked out of the group during his first experience with them, he decides to help them. Later that day, Blaze, Tails and Amy take off in the Tornado to search for the sources they need.

Shortly after, Tails is driving Amy and Blaze in Tails' vehicle to Barricade Town, one of the towns in the network of the Restoration. Amy is happy to see the place seems to have recovered from the damages of the Metal Virus plague. Blaze claims they would have arrived sooner if they were on the Tornado and apologizes to her friends for making them take a car instead. But Amy assures her it's not a problem, as they understand the former has fear of weights (which they initially forgot when they left Emeraldville Ruins). The friends arrive Barricade Town, but are surprised to see that everything seems okay with the town and the citizens. Though Amy seems to not like that she seems disappointed that things are peaceful, Tails assures her it's understandable; as the point of their trip is to see if the loss of Restoration HQ had impacted the towns in the network, but Barricade Town seems unaffected.

Blaze, with a serious look, claims the appearance of peace can be masking deeper troubles and wants to find the Restoration liaison. This reaction makes her friends worried; Amy feels bad for Blaze beating herself up for not being around when everything happened while Tails comments her empire is lucky to have her as their princess, as well as admiring her devotion to protect others, but wishes she wouldn't be so hard on herself. Shortly after, the trio find Barricade Town's Restoration office, where they are greeted by a female rabbit employee. The woman is in shock to learn about the central HQ's destruction, as she only heard about an accident, so she immediately contacts the other offices in the network to get supplies and volunteers. With this solved, Amy decides to head straight to the next town in the network.

Later, the friends arrive at Glass Hill, where Amy sees there is a fire somewhere from afar. Blaze immediately gets out of the car and runs at high speed to where the smoke is coming, only to find the fire is already being put out by Glass Hill's Restoration team. Tails and Amy arrive shortly after to the scene. A male monkey citizen overhears the trio talking and tells them the town's Restoration outpost is taking care of everything. He claims they are overstaffed and supplied, and he himself is part of the volunteer force, who are being sent to Emeraldville to help with the disaster there. Amy tells him how people in Barricade Town seemed to not be aware of the loss of HQ and asks if the same is happening in Glass Hill. The monkey man responds he doesn't know much, except that they needed help and he will do so, as this is what the Restoration is about. This is much to Amy's delight, leading her to hug the stranger, much to his embarrassment.

Later on, the friends are in Tails' vehicle in its boat form, riding on water to the last town of their adventure. Amy is very delighted to see that instead of being in trouble, the Restoration is thriving even after the loss of HQ. Tails is also very happy that Clutch couldn't destroy it. Blaze compliments Amy's work, not what they're all doing now, but what she did before. As Amy founded the Restoration to help others, and now the organization has created such an enduring legacy; which Blaze claims is all thanks to Amy's efforts, leaving the latter flattered. The friends finally arrive at their last destination: Turtleshell Island. They arrive at the floating town, which seems to be peaceful as well. But the trio hears a familiar voice and find Surge and Kit at an outdoor table having lunch. Amy is happy to see Surge and asks how her hero's journey is going, which the latter responds that there's no peril happening anywhere. Tails nervously greets Kit, but the latter coldly ignores the former. Surge claims that there isn't anything "exciting" happening in the island's town, but Kit says that you never when something might go wrong Turns out Kit put a bomb in one of the town's anchor buoys to cause a peril for Surge to solve it and save the day, which explodes shortly after.

As the city starts to tremor, Tails flies high to see what happened and finds the blew anchor buoy sinking. He comes back to the ground right after to inform his friends of the peril. He pulls out his Miles Electric to verify the situation; h explains that there are six anchors that keep the town floating suspended over the lake, but with one of them destroyed, the other five are put under extra strain, which will cause the town to sink. Surge gets up and decides to save the day by destroying another buoy to balance the weight, Tails tries to tell her this won't help, but she leaves at high speed. Blaze runs to catch up with her. The two girls run around the town to the matching buoy. Unfortunately Blaze doesn't get there on time and Surge cuts the rope connecting the buoy to the town. Blaze reprimands Surge for her actions, which the latter responds back that she is helping, until Blaze claims the town is sinking faster now, which silences Surge. although she claims it was Tails who didn't explain the situation right. Meanwhile, the town's Restoration outpost team is helping the citizens evacuate. Amy approaches the head commander and asks how she can help, but the former responds they have everything under control, as they have been prepared for a situation like that; they have designated boats for everyone, as well as shelters in the island's Green Shell. Amy asks about the fate of the town itself, which the head chief sadly responds they can't do anything about it. So Amy volunteers to help make sure everyone evacuates, which the chief accepts.

Amy, Blaze and Surge return to where Tails and Kit are, where Blaze informs about the other destroyed buoy. Amy tells Surge she will join them in searching the streets to help evacuate. Surge argues this isn't something "cool or flashy" to do, but Amy asks her if she wants to be a hero or not, so the former gives in. Blaze asks Tails if he has a plan, he responds there is an underwater volcano below the town that is still active, and the evacuation protocols were drafted with an eruption in mind. Since Blaze can control flames, Tails belives she can get a thermal vent going to keep the town afloat long enough for the buoys to be repaired. Although Blaze never done anything like this, she refuses to abandon the people in this hour of need. But she will need to reach the bottom of the crater lake to do it, then Tails claims Kit will help with this part. The latter coldly asks if Tails doesn't have some "brilliant" gizmo to fix everything. But Tails responds he doesn't, and Kit have the unique tools and skills they need and is the only one who can do it. Kit gets nervous, saying he can't upstage Surge, but she tells him they are a package deal and she will get the glory by proxy and tells him to do it.

Everyone part ways to complete their parts. Kit uses his powers to create a bubble with tentacles that keeps the oxygen inside and the water out, which he and Blaze use to go underwater. Blaze feels like the walls are closing in inside it, but Kit responds the water pressure is increasing, and that the air inside is limited. He manages to get them to the bottom of the volcano's crater lake. As Blaze puts her hand on its surface, she thinks on how she used to believe her fire powers were a dangerous curse that kept her away from others, until her friends showed her the truth: that her powers are in fact a gift to defend the weak and fight evil. Remembering how her friends have given her so much, she gives all of herself and manages to create a thermal vent. As many geysers manifest, Blaze and Kit leave. All the citizens manage to evacuate in time. Amy, Tails and Surge reunite with Blaze and Kit. Tails claims he will see if he can get the anchor lines at least temporarily secured, while Amy claims they have canvassined the town in record time and will make sure everyone is accounted for on the census. Blaze compliments Surge and Kit for helping (despite Surge's first misstep), commenting the are honoring the ideals of the Restoration as Amy, Tails and Blaze leave.

In the the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin offs published by Archie Comics, Blaze is the guardian of the Sol Emeralds, much like she is in the games.

In Blaze's first appearance, Sonic finds her in captivity after she was captured by a group of SWATbots outside of Knothole. At first hostile to the "Blue One", Blaze eventually realized Sonic meant her no harm after their brief battle ended and he offered his friendship. Blaze vanished soon after, promising to haunt Sonic's dreams as he'd haunted hers. She later assisted Sonic, Tails and Marine in battling Captain Whisker, Johnny and Dr. Eggman Nega to retrieve a Chaos Emerald. In her next encounter with someone from Mobius Prime, she worked with Shadow and Marine to defeat Metal Sonic.

Eventually, arriving in Mobius herself, she sought out a Sol Emerald from getting into the possession of anyone else, with assistance from Cream the Rabbit, Cheese, and Amy Rose. It turned out that three other groups had detected the emerald as well, which included Team Dark, Team Rogues, and Team Hooligan. With the help from Team Dark in a former four-way battle, Blaze recovered her Sol Emerald and peace was restored to her dimension.

In Worlds Collide, Blaze was among Sonic's allies, who were captured and turned into the Roboticized Masters. As Blaze Woman, she was ordered by Dr. Eggman and Dr. Wily to retrieve a Chaos Emerald with Silver Man and eventually to fight Sonic and Mega Man's allies. She was eventually brought back to normal and joined the final battle against the evil doctors.

Following the Super Genesis Wave, Blaze became virtually identical to her game counterpart.

In DC X Sonic the Hedgehog #4, Blaze is protecting a Chaos Emerald in the Water Palacefrom Darkseid's forces, consisting of Female Furies Stompa and Mad Harriet and some Parademons with them, until she is aided by Wonder Woman, with whom she exchanges friendly benders before setting to continue fighting off the invasion. Blaze also entrusts Diana with the Chaos Emerald, which she knows the Justice League plans to use to banish Darkseid's forces and return Sonic and his friends home.

In the Legacy of Chris Thorndyke,

And she is reprised by Erica Lidenbeck in the English dub and Nao Takamori in the Japanese dub.
